St. George's is situated approximately 1.5 miles from the City Centre near the commercial district of Five Ways and within the inner residential suburb of Edgbaston. Two of the main approaches form part of a one way system and the church itself is on a gyratory island! Limited car parking is available on the church's "island" and at weekends there are usually parking places available in Highfield Road. On weekdays car parking is at a premium.

Outside morning and evening weekday peaks Birmingham's roads flow well and traffic moves fast but the peak hours are very congested. Add an extra 45 minutes to your journey time for the closest five miles if approaching or leaving St. George's in the weekday rush hour.

Local landmarks are the Botanical Gardens and Five Ways. (Edgbaston cricket ground is about one mile away)
