Looking ahead:

Bishop Esther's Visit: Sunday 22nd February (Lent 1), 10.30am

The Bishop of Aston will preside and preach on Technology & Faith (our theme for Lent). All are invited to join us, including for a soup lunch after the service.

We invite you to bring bread (shop-bought or home-made) from your own culture/cuisine, to celebrate the wonderful diversity of St George's.

Ash Wednesday: 18th February

Contacting the Ministry Team

Members of the ministry team are available for pastoral care and conversation. We are here for you, so please do approach us in church!

Even if we can't speak at length in that particular moment we will make sure that we arrange a good time and place to talk further with you.

If you want to make contact with a member of our team during the week, please use the email addresses/phone numbers on the pewsheet to get in touch.

If you need to write, letters should be sent to the church postal address and include the sender's name so that we can respond to your enquiry. Thank you.

With prayers and best wishes,

Fr Sam

Dear friends,

Please find attached a Pew Sheet and Prayer Calendar for January 2026.

I hope you can join us for some Christmas services if you are around.

Just a reminder that, alongside our usual Christmas services tomorrow and on Christmas Day we have the following coming up soon:

Sunday 28th December, 10.30am: Christmas Carol Service

A cheerful continuation of our Christmas celebrations (remember there are twelve days of Christmas!) The clergy are away so this will be led by our wonderful Readers and lay ministers.

Tuesday 6th January, 7.15pm at St Alban's, Highgate (B12 0YH): Epiphany Mass

We won't be having an Epiphany service at St George's because our building will be closed for our new sound system installation! Instead, we will join our friends at St Alban's and I will be preaching. If you want a lift cars leave from St George's at 6.30pm.

This comes with my very best wishes to you and your loved ones for a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Fr Sam

I would also like to commend three upcoming events to you in particular, which are sure to encourage both some festive cheer and appropriate Advent reflection!

Our Advent Carol Service at 5pm this Sunday (30th November) A relaxed, all-age service including Blessing of the Christmas Tree and solemn Switching-on of the Church Lights.

Cider & Carols on Friday 19th December, 7pm in church. Bring your friends for informal carol singing around the piano with a warming winter drink. Non-alcoholic options will be available.

Finally, Christmas by Candlelight on Saturday 13th December, 7.30pm - a special event from our friends at Obsidian. 50% of proceeds from ticket sales go to church so please come along for what is bound to be a wonderful evening!

May God richly bless you in this season of preparation for the coming of Christ,

Fr Sam
