Church Heating Project

The church boiler has failed and is sadly beyond repair. We have known for some time that we would need to plan and raise funds for a new boiler, and for improvements to our heating system. Our circumstances now make this a priority.

We plan to replace our current model with a modern condensing boiler, which will be more efficient than the existing boiler which was installed 40 years ago and will consume less gas for the same heat output. We estimate that this will reduce our annual CO2 emissions for a typical year by 8 tonnes, making a good start on our green journey.

If you feel moved to contribute towards this project, financially or with your time for ideas or fundraising, please talk to me or the churchwardens.

This winter we urge all parishioners to wrap up warm for services and events. We plan to install temporary units to heat the areas where people gather. If the weather is very cold, we may adapt by relocating worship to the Whitmore Room.

Our vitality as a church means that, while this is a challenge, it is not an insurmountable obstacle to our continued growth and flourishing. We appreciate your support and care. Fr Sam
